Maximize Your Day: This is the day that The Lord has made

You won’t be successful in maximizing this day if you believe your problems are bigger than your God

I think it is safe to say that all of us want a great life. All of our definitions of what great is will obviously vary, because we all see life differently. But here’s the reality, if we want to live a great and fulfilling life, we must learn to maximize each day. Living a fulfilling life will be dependent upon your consistency to maximize each day. Now as easy as that might sound, the truth is we all have challenges we face that seem to derail our efforts in consistently maximizing the day. Health conditions to unexpected items showing up on your credit report stopping you from getting the house you want, to car problems, to relationship drama. With this and more at our doorstep every day, how are we ever expected to maximize the day?

The Scripture says it like this: This is the day that The Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. Friends, notice what it does not say. It doesn’t say, “I know you got these big bills in front of you, but at least try to have a good day.” Or, “I know you two have been arguing a lot, but at least try to rejoice if you can.” None of our daily challenges are mentioned in this text as conditional as to whether or not we are to rejoice and be glad.

The action of rejoicing and being glad is because of who made the day and not, what’s in the day. When your focus becomes—God made this day— rejoicing and being glad becomes easy. It doesn’t become easy because your problems suddenly disappear, it becomes easier because what you believe begins to change. As I have often said, what you focus on, is what will come into focus. You won’t be successful in maximizing this day if you believe your relationship will never work out right. You won’t maximize this day if you believe your financial ship is sinking because of a few outstanding bills. You won’t be able to maximize this day if you believe that your health condition is going to get the best of you. My friends, You won’t be successful in maximizing this day if you believe your problems are bigger than your God.

When your focus and attitude becomes God made this day for me: I’m supposed to be joyful, I’m supposed to be glad, I’m supposed to be happy— my friends, then what you believe about this day will change. You’ll believe that God is aiming miracles, unexpected blessings, new opportunities, and fulfilled promises in your direction.

Another thing that stops us from maximizing each day is that we have a tendency to focus on several days at a time, rather than just taking it one day at a time. I am not saying that we should not plan ahead, but when you start worrying about next weeks problems before you even begin the day, it will be all but impossible to maximize this day. Jesus says it like this: “Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” When you find yourself worrying about tomorrow, you are multiplying the trouble that you focus on. Notice that Jesus said that tomorrow will worry about itself. Your responsibility is not to worry about tomorrow rather our responsibility is to rejoice and be glad in this day because of who created this day. I believe that when we do this we are setting ourselves up on the collision course with answer prayers, unexpected blessings, new opportunities, fresh miracles and a new level of happiness.
